Access Paradise Public Records

Paradise has no incorporated city hall, so its official files sit with Clark County, Nevada courts, the regional health district, and state agencies. To search Paradise public records well, first decide whether the subject is a deed, parcel, court case, permit, certificate, or custody record. Then use the office that created it. A Las Vegas postal line can still point to property inside unincorporated Paradise, which makes jurisdiction more useful than the city printed on an envelope. Online indexes provide a fast start, while counters, copy orders, microfilm, and focused records requests fill the gaps.

Paradise Public Records Landscape

Most Paradise public records are county records because Paradise is an unincorporated town and census-designated place. The source office changes with the event. The Recorder keeps recorded land instruments and marriage certificates. The Assessor maintains the current assessment roll. Trial cases belong to the appropriate court clerk, while birth and death certificates follow separate vital-record laws.

Open access is not universal. Sealed cases, juvenile and adoption files, protected voter fields, military discharge papers, confidential vital certificates, and protected addresses remain limited by specific laws. A custodian should redact a separable protected field rather than withhold the rest of an otherwise open record.

Why Paradise Records Sit Countywide

A common jurisdiction mistake begins with the words “Las Vegas” in a mailing address. Much of the Strip, Harry Reid International Airport, UNLV, and many nearby homes are in unincorporated Paradise. Clark County governs those parcels even when the postal city says Las Vegas. The City of Las Vegas clerk and municipal court are not default custodians for a Paradise event.

For land, permit, assessment, licensing, election, and advisory-board files, check the legal jurisdiction. The Clark County OpenWeb GIS can confirm town boundaries, parcels, commission districts, zoning, and ZIP context. Paradise Town Advisory Board agendas and minutes can also name applicants, owners, representatives, and public speakers tied to a local parcel.

Geography check. Preserve both “Las Vegas” and “Paradise” when an official parcel shows a Las Vegas mailing city and Paradise as the legal town.

Paradise Recorder Records Online

The Clark County Recorder indexes deeds, deeds of trust, liens, releases, homesteads, maps, UCC filings, marriage certificates, and other recorded instruments. Its online official-record series starts in 1988, UCC coverage starts in 1986, and federal tax liens start in 1984. Each instrument is indexed by principal party and recording year.

A result may show the instrument number, recording date, document type, indexed parties, book and page, legal reference, and related instrument. It is a summary, not the original document.

Paradise Records Beyond Web Cutoffs

Clark County began in 1909, but the Recorder’s main web cutoff is much later. Pre-1988 indexes and recorded documents survive on microfilm. That offline run matters for old ownership, estate work, historic neighborhoods, and a deed chain that crosses the online boundary. The District Court has a similar split: files date from September 1909, while most cases from 1990 forward can be searched online.

Recorder inspection and purchased copies are available at the county office. A pre-1988 requester can contact the office for a page count before mailing payment. Court public terminals and the clerk’s counter cover archived files, certified copies, exhibits, and material not displayed remotely.

Fees follow the office, not one countywide schedule. Recorder copies are $1 per page plus $4 for certification. District Court copies are 50 cents per page plus $3 for certification. The County Clerk lists a $20 marriage certificate, while other plain and certified copies use its own per-page charges. Confirm the live schedule before ordering.

Note: An empty web result may reflect spelling, jurisdiction, an older record, a sealed file, or delayed entry rather than proof that no record exists.

Paradise Property Records and GIS

The Assessor’s free search accepts an owner name, street address, parcel number, subdivision, subdivision owner, or book-and-page route. In address mode, street name is the only required address part. Omit the City/Town filter when postal and legal jurisdiction are unclear. A phonetic-name option can help with spelling variants, and the owner-history choice can return present and prior owners.

The Clark County Assessor Real Property Records page presents the official routes into a Paradise parcel search.

Parcel detail can show the APN, owner names, tax mailing and situs addresses, legal description, value, map reference, building sketch, activity, and recorded-document links. “ETAL” means more owners exist than the two display lines can show. A mailing address is a tax destination, not proof that the owner lives there.

Paradise Court Records and Files

Paradise cases do not all land in one portal. Las Vegas Township Justice Court handles township misdemeanors, traffic, limited civil matters, small claims, protection-order matters, and initial felony stages. Eighth Judicial District Court handles general civil and criminal cases, family matters, probate, guardianship, and appeals from lower courts. Nevada appellate cases use a separate statewide system.

The Eighth Judicial District Court portal supports party, case-number, case-type, status, and date-based searching.

A public docket can list the case caption, number, type, parties, filing date, status, hearings, judicial officer, docket events, and disposition. The index may not contain every document. Order the case file or use the court counter when the docket is incomplete. Sealed documents and protected family, adoption, or juvenile details will not appear.

Paradise Vital Records Restrictions

Birth and death certificates are not ordinary open-record requests. Southern Nevada Health District issues Clark County birth certificates from 1973 and death certificates from 1988. Nevada’s Office of Vital Records is the legal custodian for statewide birth and death certificates filed from July 1, 1911. Qualified applicants must use the current form, prove identity and relationship or legal interest, and pay the live application fee.

The Nevada vital-records hub identifies the right custodian, forms, and certificate rules.

Paradise vital records rules on Nevada birth and death certificates

NRS 440.125 opens birth records after 125 years and death records after 50 years. Before then, NRS 440.650 and related rules control certified copies. Clark County marriage proof comes from the County Clerk, while a divorce decree comes from the District Court. State marriage or divorce verification is not a substitute for either document.

Paradise Public Records Desks

The main custodians are in the Las Vegas area because Paradise has no municipal clerk. Office roles matter more than proximity. The County Clerk is not the Clerk of the Court, and the general county request desk does not hold police, detention, court, or birth and death files.

Paradise Permit and Land Records

Clark County Building and Planning files can connect a Paradise address or APN to permit applicants, property owners, contractors, representatives, inspections, plans, and land-use applications. Building records generally reach the 1970s. Land-use documents may be found by APN, address, application number, or project details, while Paradise Town Advisory Board minutes can fill a hard-to-find indexing gap.

Online document images are only one channel. The building-record route accepts requests by email, fax, mail, delivery, or at the counter. A useful request gives the property address, APN, permit or application number, date range, desired record type, format, and contact details. Some plan sets or media can carry department-specific fees, so do not apply a Recorder or court price to a Building request.

Note: Search Paradise TAB minutes by APN or application number when a land-use portal does not expose the applicant or representative cleanly.

Paradise Custody Record Boundaries

Clark County Detention Center, Nevada Department of Corrections, and the Nevada registry answer different questions. CCDC covers current county custody. Its search accepts one key: at least two letters of a last name, an inmate ID, or a Justice Court case number. A match may change as charges, release status, and custody are updated, and an arrest is not a conviction.

NDOC covers state offenders by numeric ID or first and last name, with a percent sign available as a wildcard. Results can show an offender ID, name, gender, institution, and status. The agency labels the web data raw and nonofficial. Registry searches have their own terms and identity warnings. Confirm a same-name result with an official ID, case number, photo, physical description, or location before drawing a conclusion.

Paradise Records for Estate Heirs

Estate research is one lawful human use for linked official files. Begin with a public probate case in District Court. A petition, order, inventory, or other open filing may name the decedent, personal representative, heirs, attorneys, creditors, property, and mailing contacts. Then compare the names and parcel details with Recorder and Assessor data.

The record trail is: probate party and case number, then parcel or legal description, then the Recorder’s deed and lien index, then the Assessor’s current owner and tax mailing record. Follow related instrument numbers backward when title history matters. If the chain reaches before 1988, use Recorder microfilm. These sources identify legal roles at particular dates; they do not prove a person’s current residence or family relationship without supporting documents.

Paradise Records Privacy and Alerts

A commercial republisher’s opt-out does not erase a deed, docket, assessment, or other government source file. Nevada’s NRS Chapter 603A gives covered online operators and data brokers a verified no-sale process, but the rule is not a blanket deletion right for official records. Give a republisher no more identity data than its verified process needs, save the confirmation, and recheck the result later.

The Nevada Confidential Address Program provides a fictitious address and mail forwarding for qualifying survivors. Actual CAP addresses are withheld from voter output, and other protected fields must be redacted where the law requires it. Clark County’s free Recording Notification Service can also alert an owner when a document is indexed under a chosen name variant or APN. It warns of activity but does not prevent filing, so inspect the instrument and account for name collisions.

Nevada Access Rules for Paradise

The Nevada Public Records Act in NRS Chapter 239 presumes government books and records open unless another law makes them confidential. By the end of the fifth business day after receipt, a custodian must provide access, state that it lacks custody and identify a likely keeper when known, give written notice with an expected availability date, or deny in writing with the specific legal basis.

Five business days is a response or status deadline. It is not a promise that a large production will be finished in five days. NRS 239.052 allows actual copy costs, while NRS 239.055 permits an extra reasonable fee for extraordinary use of staff or technology after notice or an estimate. Ask for existing, identifiable records. An agency need not create a new report or answer broad questions.

Custodian
The agency or office responsible for keeping the requested record.
Index
A search aid or summary that points to a document but may not reproduce the full file.
Certified copy
An official copy authenticated by the keeper, often for a separate statutory charge.
Exemption
A law that closes a record or field that would otherwise fall within open access.

Requesting Paradise Public Records

A narrow request moves faster and is less likely to reach the wrong desk. Clark County’s general portal routes requests, but County Communications is not custodian for police, detention, court, or vital records. Start with the department that created the file. Use an online index first when it can supply the exact instrument, case, parcel, permit, or application number.

The Clark County records-request page explains routing and links to the county submission channel.

Paradise records request routing on the Clark County portal

The county screen is a routing point, not a single warehouse. Court copies still go to the court clerk, Recorder images to the Recorder, and certificates to the proper vital-record office.

  1. Identify the custodian and confirm that the office holds the date and record type.
  2. Search the official index for a case, APN, instrument, permit, or application number.
  3. Describe the existing record, names, address, date range, and preferred electronic or paper format.
  4. Submit through the office portal, form, email, mail, or counter channel documented for that record.
  5. Review any copy-cost or extraordinary-use estimate before authorizing production.
  6. If denied, ask for the cited authority, redaction of protected fields, and the separable open remainder.

Lawful personal use. Use Paradise records for legitimate research, civic review, family history, estate matters, or fraud checks. Never use an address or identity detail to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
